General Election Nov 5 -- Ballots mailed Oct 25 -- Early Voting Oct 29 - Nov 1
This is it, Folks! This is where endless texts and hours of questions and answers all ends up. Here you'll find my review and ranking of the candidates for each office that you, a Precinct resident, have a voice in choosing. If you haven't seen it already, please take a moment to review my vetting criteria, my reasons for posting this, and Personal Note.
There are 11 Candidates for US Senate. I've reviewed the top 3 here. Information on all candidates is found under "Candidate" menu item.
Trent = Courage. Trent was the original candidate to challenge Mitt Romney before Mitt decided to not run again (all of other candidates declared after Mitt backed out). An America First Candidate, Trent is the only candidate who has a plan that he is actively working for after he gets into office. Endorsements include Charlie Kirk, Ric Grenell , Kari Lake, Mark Levin, and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Carolyn is my second choice because of her passion about honoring and preserving the Constitution. She also has a fiery spark about her that could serve her well as she collaborates with like-minded Senators.
Carolyn has great experience volunteering in the State legislature, and even time in DC working as a staff member, but her lack of experience in an elected office is a small concern. Still, would be happy to have her fighting for us.
Brent Hatch is by far the most experienced candidate, very well educated, and a true Statesman. I'm impressed by his experience in all three branches of government. Some may argue we don't want "more of the same", but I don't see Brent this way. I have no doubt he will work for us and represent our values well. Brent is ranked 3rd because his vigor doesn't rise to the level of the other two candidates.. There's also a chance he would turn Mitt on us based on a few comments he's uttered.
All three candidates are reviewed here. Additional information is found under "Candidate" menu item.
Paul is the living "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". If you seen that movie, you know what I mean. For a career electrician, Paul knows an awful lot about the inner workings -- not to mention what is NOT working -- in congress. Paul had some his homework our our incumbent Representative as well. Check out his website for some shocking information about the Incumbents corruption . Paul is an America First candidate, although somewhat soft-spoken about it.
Derek is the outspoken MAGA candidate that would, without a doubt, support President Trump and the America First policies. A former police officer in Ogden and military vet, Derek is new to the political arena and hungry to learn how to fight for us. I would be happy to see either Derek or Paul on the Primary Ballot, but Derek is just not as informed yet as Paul is, so he comes in 2nd place here.
"Who's Blake Moore" -- That's what TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk said Tuesday night in an event is SLC. A Delegate asked him about Blake's treasonous voting in the affirmative for the unfettered spending. I couldn't agree more. Blake is an establishment candidate with ties to defense companies that reward him for voting for the spending bills (at $40,000 to $53,000+ per vote). Blake needs to be stopped from sliding in as an unknown -- he's a big part of the problem.
There are officially 5 candidates for Governor, the 3 that deserve our time are reviewed here.
There is a strong sense of urgency to find the right candidate who can defeat the Incumbent (Cox). I'm putting Carson at the top of the list because he knows how to use the party tools and resources to put up a very strong fight. Carson was State GOP Chair so he knows how the machine works. He's also a smalltown candidate so I know he can relate to us. He is also talking about issues no other candidate is -- securing our food sources here in Utah and water storage/usage for future growth for
At a recent event in the Salt Lake valley I sensed a lot of support for Phil. After all, he has shown that he can take on the Feds by spending 10 days in jail for defying the BLM as a County Commissioner. I would fully support Phil just as much as I would Carson. Phil comes in a close 2nd only because I think Carson is better equipped to win a tough challenge against the Incumbent.
Sylvia deserves mention on this list because of what she has sacrificed to run for office. I admit I haven't spoken with Sylvia personally, but have done some reading up. She has been forced to put up tens of thousands of dollars to defend herself against a frivolous lawsuit backed by our current Governor (yes, we have some ugly things going on in our beautiful state). She would be by far better than what we now have.
Three AG Candidates are reviewed here. The fourth has been linked to some shady stuff in the Gubernatorial race -- just the stuff we are trying to cast out of government.
Trent barely gets 1st place here. A Strong America First candidate, Trent has been working hard to reveal corruption in our current state leadership. He clearly understands that the AG is the LAST line of defense between us and the government. He'll keep the office independent (like Frank). He has a lot of energy and passion for limited government. I've seen him all over northern Utah as many events. He is very consistent and clear on what he can and will do for us.
I get the sense Frank has very broad support among the delegates, and it's easy to see why. He is a strong America First candidate, but his "chip-on-the-shoulder" isn't quite as heavy at Trent's. I sat next to him at a recent event and got to know him on a personal basis too. A genuinely nice guy. I like his experience, his stance, and his willingness to fight to keep the AG office independent and not appointed by the Governor. He has our best interests at heart.
I believe Rachel is a good candidate for the AG office, but she just wasn't able to convince me of her ability and willingness to support America First agenda like Trent and Frank. Due to time constraints, I haven't spoken to Rachel or attended any of her virtual events. I saw her in a panel with Trent, Frank, and another candidate that provided an excellent chance to compare all of the candidates.
Both candidates for this office are ranked here.
I've met Tina several times over the years. I like her small business and elected office experience. I fully trust her, and like here messaging about the importance of audits and how the process can be improved to hold government accountable.
Ricky is the current Weber County Clerk/Auditor. He is very respected in his field, and has an impressive history. I have no doubt Ricky will do the right things -- the things we would want him to do, so I could easily be swayed to vote for him at Convention.
Marlo M. Oaks is running unopposed for this office.
